Compare what Free and Pro include for projects, data, maps and live features.
Overview
The short summary explains what Free and Pro are intended for. The table lists the most relevant limits and extensions.
For initial planning, simple measurements, GPX/KML/CSV and basic outdoor use.
For large projects, offline work, professional imports/exports, elevation data, search grids, backups and advanced analyses.
| Area | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Projects | 1 active project, import/export of the current project | Multiple projects, project library, project switching, multi-project backup |
| Objects | Markers, areas, circles, routes and measurements with limits | Unlimited objects, much higher point limits |
| Tracks | Up to 3 tracks, 2,000 points each, max. 120 minutes | Unlimited tracks, up to 100,000 points per track |
| Search grids | 1 search grid, 5–25 m cell size, no more than 10 × 10 cells and max. 250 m edge length | Multiple search grids, 1–100 m cell size, up to 10,000 cells and advanced grid options |
| Maps and layers | 1 offline map, up to 3 active layers, 1 raster overlay | Unlimited offline maps, up to 25 layers, up to 25 raster overlays |
| Import | GPX, limited KML/KMZ, CSV, MBTiles, project import | Additionally GeoJSON, ArcGIS JSON, GeoPackage, GeoTIFF/elevation data, large KMZ/KML |
| Export and sharing | GPX, KML, CSV, current project, QR up to 10 objects | Additionally KMZ, GeoJSON, elevation profile PDF, encrypted QR, multi-project export |
| Elevation and terrain | Raw elevation data in GPX/CSV usable if present | Elevation profile view, elevation profile PDF, elevation data import, terrain functions |
| Drones / Remote ID | Show drones, view details | Additionally Remote ID export |
| Navigation and AR | Compass, bearing, basic AR | Advanced AR bearing |
| Live / groups | Join groups | Create own groups |
| Profiles | Standard profiles | Custom map/view profiles |
| Average GPS position | Not available | Robustly determine a marker from multiple GPS fixes and remeasure it later in independent sessions. |
Legal
The terms summarize important notes about safe use, Pro features, third-party data, accuracy limits and liability.
Pro scope
Extended documentation functions such as GPS/RTK quality data, averaged marker positions, terrain elevation for freely placed markers and detailed track metadata belong to the Pro scope. The Free version remains suitable for basic planning, simple measurements and common GPX/KML/CSV workflows.
Object layers and alarms
Technical processing is the same; the edition limits the number that can be used at once.
| Area | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| OGC API Features / WFS | One feature service with its selected layers | Additional feature services and layers |
| Object alarms | One active object alarm | Up to 50 active object alarms |
| External services | Provider fees and accounts not included | Provider fees and accounts not included |
GPS accuracy, Android permissions, battery rules and external service terms apply independently of Free or Pro.
Custom online maps
The protocols work the same way in both editions. The difference is the number of custom sources and layers.
| Area | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Custom sources | One custom XYZ, OSGeo TMS, WMTS or WMS source | Additional custom online map sources |
| Layers | One layer from the custom source | Multiple compatible layers and layer combinations |
| Existing definitions | Additional restored definitions remain stored; the first source with one layer is available | Stored sources and layers are available within the other map limits |
Third-party fees, accounts, data licences and usage quotas are included in neither Free nor Pro.
