Routes & Tracks

Use route, track, elevation profile, terrain and report export together.

Workflow

Suggested Flow

Use these steps to combine maps, data and tools for the task.

  1. Prepare route or trackPlan a route or import an existing GPX/KML track.
  2. Load terrainEnable HGT, DEM GeoTIFF, ASC or DTED for elevation profile and plausibility checks.
  3. RecordChoose GPS status, accuracy and power mode for the task.
  4. ExportUse GPX, KML, GeoJSON, CSV, .asmaps, ZIP or PDF depending on the target.

Track recording

Times, pauses and compact controls

Track recording stores timestamps, tour duration, pauses as track segments, pause positions and GPS accuracy. Track points show existing times, pauses and quality data in the info sheet, while the compact tracking bar keeps recording status visible without unnecessarily covering the map, menu or navigation.

Update

Edit routes later

Route points and segments can be refined later. Bearing, distances and direction angles help correct the planned line precisely on the map.

  1. Open the route through the object browser or route details and start editing.
  2. Move individual route points without rebuilding the entire route.
  3. Use segment distances, bearing and direction angles to check the path and connection points.

Follow route

Follow and monitor routes

When following a route, you deliberately choose the route, walking direction and guidance mode. The app does not change the stored route; it uses the existing geometry.

Start and direction

You can walk from start to finish or the other way round. Round routes do not get an automatic recommendation; the direction is your choice.

Start mid-route

When route following starts with an active GPS position, the app sets progress to the nearest point on the route instead of sending you back to the start. During guidance, you can show route points and choose one as the next point.

Instructions

The app derives relevant direction changes from the route line and shows only the next important cue with arrow, distance and optional estimated time.

Route monitoring

In quiet mode, the app only shows whether you are on the route. If you clearly leave the corridor, it can warn with sound, vibration or a silent alert.

Pause and continue

Route following can be paused, interrupted for today and continued later. Active sessions are stored internally, but are not exported with projects.
