Direct distance
The line measures the straight-line distance from position 1 to position 2; it does not follow roads or paths.

Distance measurement
Distance measurement connects two selected points and shows the straight-line distance, direction and, when elevation data is available, a terrain profile.
Selecting points
Choose either position on the map, by coordinates, from a saved object or from the current GPS position.
Bearing and terrain
Details show the direction from start to end and, with suitable local elevation data, a profile with elevation values.
Saved map object
Keep the measurement visible, inspect or edit it, use it for navigation, export or share it, or delete it.
Workflow
Measure between two points
- Open Tools and select Distance.
- Set position 1 and then position 2 from suitable point sources.
- Check the line, distance label, bearing and optional terrain profile.
Accuracy and limits
Interpret straight-line distance and data quality
Straight-line distance is not a walking or driving route. Accuracy depends on GPS, map alignment and the point source; the terrain profile can only be as accurate and complete as the local elevation dataset.
