FTS5 or FTS4
MapTools uses FTS5 where Android provides it and automatically falls back to the compatible FTS4 index.
Practice
Search POI offline, inspect them on the map and use them as targets.
Workflow
Use these steps to complete the workflow on the map.
Offline search
The visible POI search uses the index created during import and continues to combine it with source, category and map-viewport filters.

Several words must match together. Prefixes, synonyms and maintained language variants broaden useful terms.
If an old or incomplete index has no match, a bounded substring search remains available.
Search text is normalized and bounded by word length, word count and synonym count; FTS operators are not accepted as query syntax.
This index searches imported POI databases on the device. Searching remote feature services is a separate feature block that is not included yet.
Detailed guides
An offline map alone does not provide searchable POIs; a separate POI dataset and completed local index are required.
Enter at least three characters or use quick filters, then restrict source, category and reference point such as GPS, marker or map area.
Inspect name, category, distance and source, show a hit on the map and use it as a marker or target. OGC/WFS and InfoTap remain separate service workflows.
