These terms explain the use of ArxSilex MapTools, important app limits and responsibilities when using maps, navigation, measurements, import/export and live features.

Scope
Use of the app and website
ArxSilex MapTools is an outdoor, map and geodata toolkit for Android. The app supports orientation, planning, measurements, import/export, offline data, project management and live features. It does not replace your own judgement, official information, safety-critical navigation or professional emergency, rescue or operational software.
No emergency or aviation system
The app is not intended as the sole basis for emergencies, aviation, official decisions, rescue, navigation in dangerous terrain or other safety-critical purposes.
Supporting tool
Use the app as an aid and verify important information with suitable maps, instruments, official sources and your own situational assessment.
Accuracy
Maps, sensors and calculations may differ
All displayed values may be inaccurate, outdated, incomplete, delayed or wrong. This especially applies to position, direction, altitude, distance, area, bearing, viewrange, elevation profile, hillshade, contour lines, compass, AR/LiveView, Remote ID, BLE/Wi-Fi features, POI, map tiles, offline data and imported files.
Device dependency
GPS, GNSS, compass, magnetometer, barometer, camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, battery management and Android permissions depend on device, operating system, power saving mode, environment and reception.
Data sources
Maps, elevation data, POI, raster overlays, vector layers, map styles, Remote ID signals and third-party data may contain errors, gaps, license restrictions or delays.
Plausibility checks
For important decisions, do not rely solely on a displayed line, marker, direction, altitude, distance, area, warning, drone position or visibility calculation.
Possible damage
Risks when using the app
Depending on feature and situation, use of the app may involve risks. These include misinterpretation, incorrect calculations, wrong navigation, incorrect displayed information, data loss, damaged or incomplete import/export files, lost backup passwords, increased battery use, device heat, storage use, mobile data use, interrupted recordings, delayed notifications and limited availability.

Remote ID and live features
Passive radio and nearby features
Remote ID reception, BLE groups, Wi-Fi/Nearby features and live views strongly depend on device, Android version, permissions, radio environment, signal source and peers.
Remote ID
The app passively receives and processes public Remote ID broadcasts where device and environment allow it. It does not connect to drones, does not control drones and does not guarantee complete reception of all broadcasts.
No official evidence
Displays, histories and exports may help with documentation, but they are not an official finding, not a complete proof and not a guarantee of identity, position or legal status.
Group features
Live groups may exchange positions and status data between participating devices. Use these features only with the consent of participants and observe privacy and local rules.
Free / Pro
Free and paid features
ArxSilex MapTools can be used for free. Pro features, where offered, extend the feature scope and are provided through Google Play. Prices, checkout, payment management, refunds and mandatory consumer rights follow Google Play, the conditions shown there and applicable mandatory law.
Third parties and content
Maps, data and licenses
Imported or online data such as maps, elevation data, POI data, vector layers, raster overlays, map styles, project files and external sources may be subject to their own terms, licenses and technical limits.
User imports
You are responsible for ensuring that imported, exported, shared or published data may be used lawfully and that required source or license notices are observed.
External services
Google, OpenStreetMap, OpenAndroMaps, download providers, map servers and other third parties act under their own terms and privacy information.
Your data
Before sharing or exporting, check whether files contain personal data, private locations, tracks, operator positions, drone IDs or confidential project information.
Changes to features and services
Features may be changed, limited or removed
ArxSilex MapTools is continuously developed. Individual features, interfaces, Pro features, supported formats, online services, map sources, download guidance, radio/live features or access to third-party services may be changed, temporarily disabled, permanently removed, replaced or redesigned where this is objectively required or where there is a legitimate interest.

Mandatory statutory rights, consumer rights and rights relating to already purchased services remain unaffected. If an essential paid feature is permanently discontinued, statutory rights and the processes provided through Google Play apply.
Permitted use
No abusive or safety-critical use
The app may only be used lawfully and responsibly. In particular, use is not permitted where it infringes third-party rights, endangers people, enables unauthorized surveillance, circumvents privacy, drone or aviation law, interferes with third-party systems, or uses the app as the sole basis for safety-critical decisions.
Unforeseen use
To the extent permitted by law, ArxSilex is not liable for damage resulting from misuse, risky use, unlawful use, manipulation or unforeseeable use of the app, imported data, exports or online services.
No guarantees for third-party data
No guarantee is given for the content, availability, timeliness, legality or technical operation of third-party data, services, libraries, SDKs or sources.
Your own safeguards
Check important results, create backups, follow local rules and use additional tools where decisions may have significant consequences.
Liability
Limitation of liability to the extent permitted by law
ArxSilex MapTools is developed and provided with reasonable care. However, uninterrupted, error-free, complete or fit-for-every-purpose operation cannot be guaranteed. To the extent permitted by law, liability is excluded for damage arising from improper use, misinterpretation, unverified reliance on app information, data source errors, device or sensor limits, radio/network outages, battery or system limitations, import/export issues or missing backups.
Liability remains unaffected for intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, product liability, assumed guarantees and all cases of mandatory statutory liability. For slightly negligent breaches of essential contractual obligations, liability is limited, where permitted, to typical and foreseeable damage.
Changes
Updates and changes to these terms
Features, limits, Pro scope, supported formats and terms may be adjusted with app or website updates. The published version applies. Security and feature updates are communicated through Google Play and the app changelog where reasonably possible.
